from DailyMail thanks darkcity
Here's a Daily Mail's take on Keanu and his b-day. Again, their reporter seems keen on suggesting how we should interpret what we see, but hey, who says we have to! The second part of the txt is Keanu's short bio which, in order to avoid an umphtieth repetition, we choose not to post.
Happy birthday: Keanu Reeves, who turned 46 today, was pictured cutting a solitary figure outside a pop warehouse in New York, with a cupcake and candle
What a way to spend your birthday! Keanu Reeves marks his 46th with a solitary cupcake outside a warehouse
By Daily Mail Reporter 3rd September 2010
He's developed something of a reputation for the recurring images of him pictured cutting a downcast, lonely figure.
And today another such brooding photograph emerged of Keanu Reeves, sat outside a prop warehouse on his 46th birthday alongside a cupcake with a solitary candle.
The Matrix movie star was seen talking on his phone as he hung around the loading dock in New York, dressed casually in jeans, a shirt and blazer.

Why is Keanu Being Honored?
By Timothy Malcolm
From recordonline, thanks lizzy
So why is Keanu Reeves being honored with an Excellence in Acting Award by the Woodstock Film Festival?
For one, he’s a true advocate of independent film, and Meira Blaustein would know.

from sina.com.cn/TigerChen
Tiger Chen posted an account of Keanu's visit in his blog. In it, he speaks about the film they are working on together. While waiting for the text in English, here are the photos. Pls keep checking, I'll add the translation here as soon as I get it.
Last family portrait from left: Lao Ben, Lao Mo Mo (Lemore Syvan), Hua Hua, Cao Shan, Lao Li (Keanu Reeves), Lao Hu (Tiger Chen), Chao Hui, Dai Xing, Director Lao Kai. This is our tradition after each phase of work: Sichuan Hall - Keanu liked the food! (Translator note: "Lao" is a title of respect, or also Mr/Ms)
Here's the translation of what's been said in the blog (yashodhara, thanks ever so much - this is brilliant!):
Three years have passed, and Lao Li (Lao Li= Keanu Reeves) has finally returned: Last time he was really more of a tourist, but I feel that this time it is entirely for work. I took him to meet some Chinese fans, to say hello and to tell everyone about his trip and why he is here.

News : Keanu Reeves Picks a Winner

From HITFIX Inside Movies & DVD with Drew McWeeny
Gabriele Muccino needs a hit.
And "Passengers" just might be that hit. Especially with Keanu Reeves aboard to star.
The script for "Passengers," written by Jon Spaihts, was impressive and unusual, and it doesn't surprise me that it's actually making its way towards a start date. I'm just shocked it took this long. Morgan Creek is producing the movie, which Muccino is set to direct. He was the filmmaker behind the Will Smith hit "The Pursuit Of Happyness," but was also the filmmaker behind the Will Smith flop "Seven Pounds," meaning he's in the unenviable position right now of reeeeeeeally needing to make a movie that connects with the audience. I'm glad he signed on for this one, because I think it needs a director who isn't genre-obvious.

CANNES -- A newly reinvigorated Morgan Creek has licensed its latest project, "Passengers," to be directed by Italian auteur Gabriele Muccino, to Medusa in Italy and to Herbert Kloiber's TeleMunchen in Germany. Other deals in key territories are pending on the $90 million pic, which will go out domestically through Universal.
Keanu Reeves already has been locked up as the male lead, while his female love interest is still being sought for what the producers short-handed as "Adam & Eve in Space." The pic also will have a couple of comedic roles and set designs created by some of the wizards who worked on "Avatar."

Actor Keanu Reeves, who was last year's overall champion of the Toyota Pro-Celebrity race, had to drive as one of the pros in Saturday's race.
He was not a factor, but he was able to come from 30 seconds back to start the race, like the rest of the pros, to take 11th out of 19. He was also the last of the pros who finished the race.
"It was nice training with them (the pros)," said Reeves, the star of such films as "Speed" and the "Matrix" trilogy among others. "Once the race started, they just took off."
