"I can totally attest to what a nice, sweet guy Keanu is. I actually ran in to him twice in the Bay Area when he was here filming Sweet November.
The first time he was swarmed by a bunch of high school kids in Daly City asking for autographs. And he was very patient and gracious, actually engaging these kids for a minute or two and not just scribbling in their notepads before pushing them off. When they all left I talked to him for a minute. He shook my hand and patted me on the shoulder and said "Take care."

Q: How was it working with Keanu Reeves?
Robin: Great. He's a great person. He's so sweet and so available. We had to beg him to do this part. He wouldn't do it. He really didn't think he was right for it, and he's perfect for the part. He's just removed enough. You wanted to question "Who is this weirdo? Are you perverted?" But, underneath the weirdo exterior is such a genuine, loving, understanding man. And, that's exactly who Chris needed to be for Pippa to come out of her shell. So, it was great working with him. He's a gem, and a decent man.

I found the link to this beautiful blog in my mail this morning. Along with some excellent photos and amusing stories, there is a little anecdote about how they met Keanu on Capri in October 2005. The photo is from the blog, too.
"... We took a bus back up the mountain and cleaned up and went to dinner. We were all quite pooped and quite tired of spending money so we were in search of a cheap place. Well all of the cheap places were kind of shady, so we decided to go to this cute little restaurant which was just a little more in cost. They had a nice porch with a wooden moon on the wall, we couldn't resist.

Robin: Keanu is a gentle giant

Keanu Reeves has been praised as a "gentle giant" by his co-star Robin Wright Penn.
The two play an unlikely couple in The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee, which also stars Winona Ryder, Julianne Moore and Blake Lively, and Robin said Keanu was perfect for his role as a kind, soulful slacker.
She said: "I thought he was quite good actually, he's perfect for it - he's a gentle giant."
She went on: "He's very comfortable around girls, thank God because it was a full set of girls!"
The 43-year-old actress added that he made her feel comfortable on set.
"I feel like we were blessed to have him do it, because it didn't feel strange. The dynamic was already there. To me, that's chemical. When a director knows, when they walk in, that that person clicks, and we just had it. We needed Pippa to be seen, and he's the first person that actually sees her for who she is, she knows he sees her, and it's beautiful as she's then allowed to blossom," Robin said.

"When my daughter was about a month old, I was in the drugstore here in Honolulu, holding her. Keanu Reeves walked right up to me, touched her tiny little hand, and said "you have such a beautiful daughter". I didn't even know what to do, I just said "thanks, Keanu". He was so serious and intense, but nice. It was one of those things where I spent weeks thinking of comebacks I should have made..."
