Written by Rosy When not working Keanu Reeves likes to let loose. He doesn’t shave, his hair gets long and when we see him in some random paparazzi photos you can tell he has not put one bit of effort into his outfits.
While I do love the freeness of that Keanu, it doesn’t beat THIS Keanu who rocked a tuxedo at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards held at Kodak Theatre on March 7, 2010 in Hollywood, California.

Keanu Reeves Hints At A 'Bill & Ted' Sequel On The Oscars Red Carpet!
The 82nd Annual Academy Awards red carpet was a madhouse this evening, as it always is. MTV's Josh Horowitz was there to deliver a live streaming account of the festivities, with interviews and category previews to take you into the big show. One of the familiar faces he chatted with was Keanu Reeves, who was on-hand to present Best Picture nominee "The Hurt Locker" for his "Point Break" director Kathryn Bigelow. Since he had Reeves' ear, Josh asked if we might be seeing a new "Bill & Ted's" follow-up at some point in the future. And it seems we might be!

Oscars 2010: A Writer For the Awards Dishes on the Show
When Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin—and an assortment of Hollywood’s most famous, coiffed, waxed and botoxed stars—ascend the stage of the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday to present the 82nd Annual Academy Awards, many of the words you hear them speak will have been carefully crafted by a team of professional comedy writers...
...Who are some of the other people you were assigned to write for?
Peter Sarsgaard introducing Carey Mulligan. Carey Mulligan and Zoe Saldana introducing best live action short. Chris Pine introducing “District 9,” Keanu Reeves introducing the clip from “The Hurt Locker.”

Joe Queenan on why the US treats film stars like gods who have popped down to earth for a gambol among the ordinary folk
Things were looking pretty bleak here in Tarrytown, New York, back in January. Stores were closing left and right, people were losing their homes, nobody could find work, and out in the street it was colder than a penguin's flippers. Truly, this was the winter of our discontent. And then Keanu came to town. |

Damn the Snow. Keanu’s Taking the Subway!
We don’t tend to highlight celebrity sightings here, but we find this one kind of amusing. Upper West Sider @munipenny rode the C train (the certified worst train in the city) with Keanu Reeves this morning and snapped a blurry picture of him on the 81st Street platform. According to her, he was “brooding, dark, cold and totally dreamy.” Wow. In the middle of a blizzard. This guy is good.

Just FYI, for those who like to change themes. I have added about seven new ones to homepage. Including the new default..I got tired of grey. I also deleted a few older themes, so sorry if you were using them. But I think you will enjoy the new ones. There will probably be more added in the next few days. I'm also trying to find someone to design a splash/intro page for the site. So stay tuned for more changes. Hopefully of course |

from Tarrytown's RiverJournal thanks Big Bad Jax
Here is a part of a message that came to CK mailbox and the article in question. I find it one of the nicest tokens of appreciation of who Keanu really is:
"Positive energy comes back in many forms
The River Journal is Tarrytown's (and surrounding river towns) longest running monthly local news publication. It is the go-to news paper for us when we want up-to-date, accurate neighborhood news. A moving, accurate article about Keanu and his film Henry's Crime leads the February publication. I'd like to share this with you. Many high profile folks in all industries pay big bucks to public relations firms to craft their public persona and generate hits and/or news worthy items. In contrast, Keanu and his entire crew and talent descended upon Tarrytown in January inspiring newspaper publisher Bob Bonvento to write this article. You can't make this stuff up. As the attached article says, 'priceless.' During what is normally a cold, dreary month, Keanu's production was indeed an uplifting experience for businesses and residents of Tarrytown. Positive energy comes back in many forms. Enjoy! Jackie Wolf-Enrione aka Big Bad Jax"

In Tarrytown, Feature Film Boosts Local Economy
Written by Robert Bonvento Friday, 19 February 2010
Ask any retail merchant or restaurant owner about January and, with few exceptions, they will bemoan the month from a financial gains standpoint.
The light of the Christmas holiday season, which may account for up to 30 percent of annual retail sales, is followed by the dark side of the moon in January. Add to this business fact of life our current economy that is at best sputtering along, and most retailers and restaurants simply look to February 14 and Saint Valentine to buoy their businesses.

Apparently, Keanu attended The Hurt Locker party in Hollywood last night. I can't promise anything, but hopefully there were some pix, too. Here's a snippet from showbiz411
Monday night in Hollywood: “The Hurt Locker” Oscar momentum grows.
Harrison Ford, Keanu Reeves, Robert Duvall, Charlize Theron — all were some of the hosts at a star studded gathering at Phillippe Chow restaurant. My spies say it was like an Oscar party...

from empireonline - thanks dark horror-movies.ca dreadcentral
I'll paraphrase darkcity when she sent me the link: I knew something was wrong, but at least they are talkin' about it. Here's a compilation of the news from several sources:
Nicolas Refn No Longer Helming Keanu Reeves' Jekyll
It's been a while since we've heard anything from Keanu Reeves' camp regarding the actor's upcoming modern take on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of the scientist Dr. Jekyll and his monstrous alter-ego, Mr. Hyde, but today came word that the project is director-less as Nicolas Refn had to bow out due to "a simple matter of clashing schedules".

Paparazzi will have to get it eventually - evidence is accumulating that Keanu doesn't like to be snapped at outside his working hours (and sometimes not even then):
Keanu Reeves is a shy guy!
Is Keanu Reeves a shy guy? He was today! Photographers caught up with the Matrix star as he made his way to a waiting car after leaving the Bowery Hotel. Keanu desperately tried different ways to cover his face with his hands but looked as if he ended up laughing it all off.

Written by Rosy on February 5, 2010 – 8:49 pm Now this is what I call a proper Keanu Reeves post! Finally the star of Private Lives of Pippa Lee emerged all clean cut and sharply dressed as he enjoyed a solitary walk in New York City this afternoon.

Update : Aurora? ...Possible

from milano.cronacaqui.it thanks gulbie
Gulbie, another of our Italian members, has found a follow-up on the announcement of Passengers starting filming in the summer. As it seems, the "less-known talent" to play the role of Aurora will be an Italian actress - Sabrina Impacciatore.
Here's a translation of what the director, Gabriele Muccino said in connection with this:
"The next film I'll do will be back in America. This is a love story set in space and involves Keanu Reeves and Sabrina Impacciatore. I'm glad to be back in the States, although there, they work in a different way. In Italy - here, I found my freedom - there are no limits to creative expression." (this last bit is in connection with the film Muccino is going to do after Passengers.)

from two Italian papers - Corriere della Sera and la Repubblica and Del Cinema website thanks breeze
(Variety confirmed yesterday)
Our member breeze was kind enough to translate and forward a part of an interview with the Italian director Gabriele Muccino who is to helm one of Keanu's forthcoming projects - The Passengers. According to Mr. Muccino, it should start filming this summer:
Quote "La prossima estate Muccino farà ritorno negli Stati Uniti per dirigere Passengers. "Si tratta di un film di fantascienza con due protagonisti, uno è Keanu Reeves e l'altra è un'attrice poco nota. L'idea è di iniziare le riprese in estate ma negli Stati Uniti non si può mai prevedere con esattezza l'inizio delle riprese di un film" (from Del Cinema website)
which translates as 'Next summer Muccino will go back to the States to direct Passengers. "It is a sci-fi movies with two main actors, one of whom is Keanu Reeves, and the other a little-known actress. We are due to begin shooting in summer, but in the States it is never easy to foresee exactly when the actual start will be".

If anyone has or plan to order a 2010 calendar, or dvds, or even greeting cards, bad news. My printer broke. And the one I bought on ebay isn't working either, so I'm out that money too. The only thing I ever use printers for are CK related items, so until I can scrape up enough money to purchase a good quality printer, orders will have to be postponed. Not that I get many, but now and then I do. So when making donations the next few months, a printer for CK is much needed. Thanks for be patient, those who are waiting for an order. I have to have Office Depot finish it. |
