Hi everyone,
Chicks and I have come up with this set of rules and guidelines for posting because we thought this would help those who want to become members decide whether this board is a good place for them and also to help newbies find it easier to adapt. As for the other members - well, it's just a reminder.
Also, we've decided this is a good moment to post them because everything is running smoothly
and nothing in these rules is aimed at anyone currently active on the board.
So, here they are:
Rules & Guidelines: Read This First Before Registering and Posting We’ve tried to keep them short and clear.
1. Basic tenet: we are supportive of Keanu. This does not mean every word from your mouth has to be in praise, you may have negative criticism as long as it is not slanderous, defamatory or insulting.
2. No gossip or speculation about Keanu or the people close to him (however there will be times when light hearted speculations is acceptable as long as it's respectful). No lady-friend bashing (that includes on-the-sly snarky remarks).
Goes without saying that we’re all entitled to our opinion, but then, please, make sure you place it as such and NOT as a FACT. This is his fan-site and if you don’t like him, perhaps you should reconsider your decision to register.
3. No flaming of board members.
4. No trolling, no spamming, no post slutting - trolls and spammers will be banned.
5. Please use the board's search utility to see if a thread or subject exists BEFORE starting a new one. In addition, please do your fellow members the courtesy of reading through an informational thread before asking questions that may have already been answered earlier.
6. No member names consisting of meaningless set of letters and numbers, offensive words or words suggesting negative, abusive and/or extreme ideas (Satanism, Fascism, etc.)?is allowed. The registration is NOT automatic and CK administrators reserve the right to refuse acceptance to any online name they find inappropriate.
7. This board's language is English, therefore please post using English.
8. Public challenges to the Administrators’ and Moderators’ decision is inappropriate. If you have issues with a decision, please use the PM system to address your concerns. Please note: the rules are not open for debate.
9. You must be 17 years of age or older to register. Please note that should someone register with a false birth-date in order to bypass the restriction but then later posts in a manner that betrays their obvious age, the membership will be deleted.
10. Please do not register multiple times with different usernames. This just clutters up our database and adds to the confusion. If you want to change your username for some reason, send a request and we will most likely accommodate you.
11. Do not hotlink to images from other fan sites unless you have the permission of the owner to do so. That is considered bandwidth theft. You may post a link directing others to the image.
We also suggest members try one of the myriad free image hosting services such as PhotoBucket.com, it's easy to use.
12. Please credit your sources, it's only proper to give credit where credit is due. If you wish to use a member's artwork/avatar/sig image/manip, please contact that member privately and obtain permission.
13. Do try to keep the netspeak/teenspeak to a minimum as sometimes it's very difficult to decipher what exactly is being said in a post! Also please, do not abuse the font sizes and capitals when posting on a regular basis. It's fine for emphasis or if you're wishing someone a Happy Birthday greeting but if every one of your posts contains huge fonts or is in capital letters then it gets a bit tiresome.
14. As a general rule, we do not support or endorse fan petitions of any kind. Please do not start threads about signing petitions. They will be locked and then deleted after a few days.
15. Avatars and Banners (for registered users only)
Please go to THIS PAGE for information on how to choose an avatar or insert a banner. There’s a whole thread of banners made by our members here – feel free to choose one or add some to our collection.
Please try to keep your entire signature area to around 180 X 600 pixels. Here’s a sample banner from our collection:
We reserve the right to edit and or remove offensive, inappropriate or plain old nonsense riddled posts at any time and without notice. We may also place members on moderation without notice should it become necessary. These rules and guidelines may be revised from time to time at our discretion.
